Eid Mubarak!
Eid Al Adha was on Tuesday, August 21. It is on the 10th day of the lunar month of Dhul Hijjah and marks the day when Prophet Ibrahim was given the test of slaughtering his son, Ismael. They both submitted to God and just as Ibrahim was about to sacrifice Ismael, God put in his place a sheep. He told Ibrahim that he passed the test and will be rewarded for making such a big sacrifice for God.
Eid is a day of remembering and honoring Prophet Ibrahim for obeying God and trusting Him with his son’s life.
Charlotte, Rose and I took the day off to celebrate and spend time together. We made sure to remind ourselves of the reason for this celebration and to reflect upon how we can learn from the story of Prophet Ibrahim and Ismael.
We went to prayer in the morning, had breakfast with friends, and then went to Santa Monica. It was a fun, relaxing day!
